In the holiday classic \u201cA Christmas Story,\u201d Ralphie famously asks for a Red Ryder BB gun but his mother objects because she\u2019s afraid he might shoot an eye out. BB guns aren\u2019t the only toys with the potential to cause harm to children in Plano. Many of the toys being offered by manufacturers this holiday season are dangerously loud<\/a>. The threshold for safe noise exposure is 85 decibels; anything louder can cause irreversible damage to the tiny hair cells<\/a> in the cochlea responsible for hearing<\/a>.<\/p>\n
